Helper - Apprentice, Shipyard

Job Description

Integrated Marine Services, a full-service ship repair yard is currently seeking applications for high school graduates (or better - military included) to fill positions as welder, machinist, electrician and pipefitter helpers. Successful candidates, possessing the prerequisite aptitudes will be trained to suit the areas they are most qualified for.

Job Requirements:

Proof of high school (or equivalent) diploma

Good history of demonstrated work ethic

Have experience or demonstrable aptitude with working or training in one or more shipyard disciplines.

Ability to read and write English

Ability to report to work on time consistently

Ability to work overtime when asked

Have reliable or access to reliable mode of transportation to work

Ability to pass a government required background check

Ability to undergo the rigors of shipboard work including the ability to routinely climb ladders, carry moderate loads and stand for extended periods of time

Ability and desire to take direction from supervisors

Ex-military (honorably discharged) are also encouraged to apply. Previous experience in equipment repair, welding, electrical or pipefitting is definitely a plus.
