Job Description

Transplant Surgical NP or PA (OUTPATIENT, NO OR)

Location: New York, NY 10032 (Onsite with some remote flexibility for administrative work)

Pay: $125,000–$160,000

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Days; no on-call or weekends

Clinic starts ~8:30 AM; arrive around 8 AM common

Must be onsite 4–5 days/week with surgeons; 1 day typically for admin work

Workday ends at least 5 PM, often later depending on patient needs

Role Overview

Outpatient role focused on surgical coordination and living donor follow-up for kidney and pancreas transplant patients. No OR work involved. The role requires autonomy, adaptability, and a seasoned candidate with clinical or relevant life experience. Basic surgical skills (e.g., removing catheters, staples, sutures) and wound care experience preferred but can be trained. This is a Fast-paced, evolving program with opportunity for growth.

Daily Workflow

Mornings: Post-treatment care with surgeons or independently

Afternoons: Pre-op exams, post-donor follow-ups, waitlist patient visits

Key Responsibilities (NP & PA Similar)

Coordinate surgical and medical outpatient care of transplant recipients and living donors

Manage living donor follow-up with donor coordinators

Assist surgeons and nephrologists with history/physical exams and care plans

Conduct pre-op exams and obtain surgical consents

Order and interpret labs and diagnostics per protocols

Develop clinical protocols, standards of care, and patient education materials

Attend professional meetings and maintain current healthcare knowledge

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Specifics

Master of Science in Nursing

Current RN and NP licenses and board certification required

BLS and DEA certifications required

Proficient with technology and social media platforms

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills

Physician Assistant (PA) Specifics

Graduate of accredited PA education program

Current PA license and board certification required

BLS and DEA certifications required

Proficient with technology and social media platforms

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
