Job Title: Level III Machinist
Job Description
The Level III Machinist plays a crucial role in the machine shop, responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts according to blueprint and instruction specifications. After processing, the products proceed to final quality inspection. This mid-level position requires versatility and adaptability, as the machinist will assist with various tasks across the machine shop to ensure seamless production.
Responsibilities
Perform production, quality, and housekeeping duties associated with operations.
Set up and operate CNC machines, transport material, operate wash tanks, and use a forklift to move material around the facility.
Conduct quality checks using gauges, rules, calipers, dial gauges, and other inspection equipment.
Troubleshoot everyday problems and ensure flexibility in floating from one machine to another.
Adhere to the control plan for assigned machines or jobs, maintaining quality and process standards.Essential Skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with machines.
Proficiency in operating CNC machines and using quality measuring equipment like calipers, micrometers, dial bores, and steel rulers.
Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Strong math skills for gauge reading and part evaluation.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Deburring experience.
Ability to perform quality inspections on finished parts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The machine shop is a large facility with over 500 employees across five shifts. It offers a temperature-controlled environment with a relaxed dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and jeans. Safety is a priority, requiring steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses, provided by the company. The facility maintains cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
