Job Description
We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Laser Operator to operate a Fiber Optic Laser machine, ensuring precise cuts according to customer specifications for thickness, flatness, and parallelism. This role involves using measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers, along with reading blueprints and operating forklifts.
Responsibilities
Operate Fiber Optic Laser machines for precision cutting.
Utilize measurement tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate specifications.
Lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
Operate forklifts and cranes safely and efficiently.
Apply math skills to ensure precise operations.Essential Skills
Proficiency in laser operation and Fiber Optic Laser machine use.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
Strong math skills for precise measurement and operation.
Experience using measurement tools like tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
Forklift operation skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime. The work environment is a steel facility, which can be loud and dirty, but offers a dynamic and non-repetitive work experience. Large doors provide ventilation, although the area is not climate-controlled. Dress attire includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and appropriate tops based on weather conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
