CNC Machinist III/Programmer
Direct Hire
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm CST
Location: Houston, TX
Pay: $28-34/hr.
Adecco is assisting a local client with a CNC Machinist/Programmer who can keep up with our fast-paced environment in a climate-controlled shop. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate CNC machines. You will design work-holding/fixturing, research and select appropriate tooling, and program Doosan 4th axis lathes and 4th axis mills to produce a variety of parts in support of both engineering prototypes as well as manufacturing production. The ideal candidate will also usher in the use of automated manufacturing practices such as robotics programming.
Responsibilities
Write reliable, accurate, and efficient machining programs for CNC 4th axis lathes and mills using Fusion 360
Design fixturing for simply and repeatably holding complex geometries during machining
Select tooling for accurately, reliably, and cost-effectively cutting parts
Set-up machining projects including tool touch-offs, work coordinate probing, first run verification, and reliability rewrites
Coordinate closely with engineering to steer new and existing projects towards designs that are more manufacturable: higher quality, faster lead-time, lower cost
Help facilitate integration of automated manufacturing solutions
Operate and maintain CNC machines, bandsaws, forklifts, and various power tools for material prep
Ensure product conformance using inspection equipment, gauges, and quality control procedures, making any adjustments as necessary.
Perform daily machine maintenance tasks such as fluid refill, chip removal, and check tooling
Assist with various shop tasks including assembly, cleaning, maintenance, and refurbishment.
Maintain a safe working environment while ensuring that all tasks are conducted with a safety-first attitude
Required Qualifications
7+ years of CNC manufacturing experience
3+ years of CAM programming experience
Advanced knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines
Proficient knowledge of materials and the cutting parameters associated with them
Proficient understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and procedural instructions
Strong understanding of G-code programs and code relationship to part design
Exhibits a self-driven character and overcomes challenges with a positive attitude
Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Possess strong skills in the following: verbal, listening, written, and non-verbal communication
This position requires a team-oriented individual who can collaborate with other machinists, assemblers, engineers, and logistics personnel to meet production requirements
Must be adaptable to changing environment, competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
Interest in continuing to develop a professional career in machining and manufacturing
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience using Fusion 360 CAM software
Prior experience with robotic automation integration into manufacturing processes
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift
Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance
Work for up to 10 hours in elements such as hot/cold warehouse/shop environment
Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage
Exposure to noise and warehouse elements
Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety-toed shoes, safety apparel, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for tasks
Pay Details: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
