About the role
The primary purpose of the position is to assist the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistency of brand, messaging and imagery across all marketing and communications. This is a casual position offering up to 20 hours per week, flexible hours between 8.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to support the writing and production of print and digital communications, both internal and external for Brisbane Grammar School.
Main Responsibilities
Writing, Communications and Publications
• Plan, write and edit the School’s print and digital publications (including Grammar News, Web news)
• Draft and edit content for a range of Marketing purposes including event flyers, invitations, editorial, advertising
• Support the delivery of the Annual School Magazine publication, writing, editing and proofing content.
• Speech writing – support leaders, and teaching staff with editing speeches for external presentations.
• Interview talent and write stories for all BGS publications, including social media, web, and email copywriting.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to collect content material for the various publications across BGS.
• Other duties as directed by the Director of Community Relations.
• Work with internal stakeholders to prioritise, draft and publish Internal Communications messages via Teams, MyGrammar and the BGS Newsletter
• Assist with the editing of written material to ensure content aligns with the BGS brand
General Marketing and Team Requirements
• Support the wider team with the collection and storage of photographs for promotional material.
• Provide photography support, assist with photo shoots when required.
• Contribute to the BGS website and online presence to increase accessibility to an array of information, resources and online publications. Ensure content is updated and continually maintained, improving search engine optimisation (SEO).
• Coordinate photos for the School Magazine, including photo schedules, photographer and staff requirements, and the approval process.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree, qualification or relevant experience in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing.

• Effective communication skills to engage and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
• Strong writing skills across a variety of print and digital mediums.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
• Photography skills desired but not essential.
