The Financial Analyst supports the operational and financial performance of the Lotus plant in Mebane by providing accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights. This role supports in the development, management, and improvement of core financial processes, including operations reporting, product costing, budgeting and forecasting, and CAPEX and investment tracking.

With a strong understanding of the plant’s accounting systems and process flows, the analyst ensures data integrity and supports the Plant Management Team with the financial information needed to monitor performance, control costs, and guide planning efforts.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Financial Planning & Analysis

Support the annual budget, forecasting, and standard cost-setting processes by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, with a clear understanding of risks and opportunities.

Analyze monthly financial results, including P&L and Balance Sheet, and prepare variance analysis versus budget and prior year to support cost reduction opportunities.

Provide ad hoc financial and operational analysis as needed to support decision-making.

Coordinate and manage the investment request (CAPEX) process, including validation of assumptions, financial modeling, and preparation of submission packages.

Support cross-functional teams including Production, Technical, and other departments with relevant financial insights and data.

Reporting

Assist in the preparation of the monthly plant financial results package for presentation to Senior Management.

Prepare weekly financial reporting packages for internal stakeholders.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation for the General Ledger Accountant, credit card reconciliation, and validation of financial controls and intercompany reconciliations.

Operational & Performance Reporting

Develop, improve, and maintain KPI reporting to enhance visibility of operational performance and support decision-making.

Collaborate with Plant Management and the Sales Office to monitor and track Continuous Improvement initiatives.

PROFILE

Educational Background

Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

Professional Experience

3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, or a related area required.

Technical Skills

Financial Analysis Proficiency: Strong skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting are essential.

Accounting Knowledge: A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices is important.

Software Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills required. Experience with ERP packages required, SAP and SAP BI knowledge is preferred.
