We are looking for an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the financial operations and strategy of an established company. As a critical member of the executive leadership team, you will take ownership of all financial planning, reporting, and compliance efforts while driving operational improvements and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a proven track record of mentoring teams and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve organizational success.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily cash flow management to maintain operational stability and cash liquidity.

Provide mentorship and guidance to the accounting team, promoting best practices in cash flow planning and financial processes.

Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheets.

Maintain alignment between the organization’s financial performance and strategic forecasts.

Prepare and deliver financial reports to investors and lending partners, addressing inquiries as necessary.

Lead the execution of the annual audit process, ensuring on-time and accurate results.

Oversee corporate tax preparation and coordinate with external advisors to ensure compliance.

Manage the reporting of asset sales to meet regulatory tax standards.

Review and approve key corporate documents while ensuring proper delegation of signing authority.

Monitor compliance and ensure the accurate filing of corporate annual reports.

Stay updated on financial, tax, and compliance trends and integrate insights into strategy.

Work closely with executive leadership to select and optimize insurance policies.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with lenders and oversee inventory-financing strategies.

Collaborate with operational teams to ensure effective inventory level management.

Partner with leasing companies to negotiate favorable financing terms.

Review and establish pay structures collaboratively with senior leadership.

Develop a high-performing accounting and finance team through hiring, training, and performance management.

Coach non-financial leaders in understanding and applying financial data to inform business decisions.

Evaluate company expenses, ensuring alignment with budget goals and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Identify, assess, and mitigate organizational risks to ensure sound financial management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA a plus).

A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in finance or accounting, with experience in multi-location or multi-department organizations preferred.

Strong expertise in corporate finance, GAAP, tax compliance, and auditing standards.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders.

Experience in managing inventory financing, leasing, and insurance policies is highly desirable.
