The Financial Analyst / Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting both the accounting and finance functions within the BQG manufacturing facility. This position involves a 50/50 split between accounting and finance responsibilities and will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with plant leadership to drive cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting Responsibilities:
Support month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Monitor inventory cost accounting, material and labor variances, detailed reconciliations, etc.
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors during financial audits.
Assist in the issuance of purchase orders, material receipts, and tracking accounts payable for the manufacturing site.
Finance Responsibilities:
Develop, track, and analyze production and efficiency KPIs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with plant leadership to assess cost-saving opportunities and implement actionable solutions.
Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with operations teams to improve financial visibility into manufacturing processes.
Provide insights on cost drivers and profitability metrics to support plant management.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in financial workflows.
SKILLS, ABILITIES and EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
3 to 6 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, within a Manufacturing or CPG environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) is highly desirable.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present actionable insights.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter. Able to function independently but collaborate with all key business partners.
Compensation
The salary range for this role considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the expected salary for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 USD.
