Role and Responsibilities

The VP, Corporate Controller, will oversee all aspects of Consello’s financial operations. You will manage financial reporting, assist with budgeting, lead audits, assist with tax compliance, ERP system optimization, and building internal controls, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the company's financial information. You will also play a crucial role in advising the group CFO on financial decisions and strategies.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Own the monthly close process (within 20 days) and year-end close (within 60 days), ensuring timely, accurate financial statements and consolidations. Deliver monthly financials to the CFO within 20 days and year-end financials within 60 days.

Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation and implement appropriate solutions to optimize accounting workflows.

Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.

Ensure proper recording and classification of financial transactions, in accordance with GAAP and regulatory guidelines. Monitor and review intercompany transactions and allocations across all entities. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.

Audit readiness - Take ownership of maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date accounting policy documentation that aligns with applicable GAAP standards and internal control requirements. Ensure policies are audit-ready and positioned to support clean and efficient financial audits.

Develop and maintain detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual closing checklists to ensure a consistent, accurate, and timely close process, including clear task ownership, deadlines, and review controls. Continuous refinement as things evolve.

Expense Trends Analysis: Provides a monthly breakdown of costs of the business, broken down by G&A, Professional Fees, Advisor Fees, Consultants, Marketing and Advertising, Utilities & Facilities, Operating & Maintenance, Taxes, Insurance, T&E, Other.

Provides monthly analysis of key expense trends, highlighting variances, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and proactively raising red flags to the CFO.

Demonstrates sound judgment in escalating important matters to the CFO in a timely manner, while respecting the established chain of command.

Formalize and enhance the process and procedures of the accounting department.

Demonstrates a commitment to continuous process improvement by regularly evaluating existing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing enhancements that drive greater accuracy, timeliness, and scalability across the finance and accounting function. Actively seeks out automation opportunities and best practices to elevate team performance and reduce manual workload.

Demonstrates strong command of technical accounting matters and accurately reflects them in the company’s books and records in accordance with GAAP Accounting (e.g. deferred revenue, unearned revenue, ASC 606).

Manage and reconcile intercompany balances across entities, ensuring proper elimination, documentation, and treatment in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal transfer pricing policies.

Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required, CPA or MBA a plus

Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus

10+ years of relevant work experience, at a public company, or private equity backed organization

Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred, including familiarity with multi-entity consolidations, dimension reporting, and automation of core accounting workflows.

Proven experience implementing complementary systems that integrate with core accounting platforms—such as Accounts Payable automation tools—to streamline workflows, improve controls, and enhance reporting efficiency.

Demonstrated experience leading financial audits, including managing audit timelines, preparing support documentation, and serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other computer applications as well as knowledge of accounting systems

Strong financial and analytical experience required

Compensation: Base salary $220,000 - $250,000; eligible for annual discretionary bonus
