Overview:
Our client, a community bank in the New York City area, is seeking a BSA Analyst to support its compliance team. The position is responsible for monitoring transactions, reviewing alerts, conducting investigations, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Review daily alerts related to customer transactions using internal monitoring systems
Investigate suspicious activity and prepare case files for management review
Draft and file suspicious activity reports as required
Perform customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence reviews
Maintain documentation and workpapers for audits and regulatory exams
Assist in updates to internal procedures and controls
Support the BSA Officer in the execution of the bank’s compliance program
Participate in periodic risk assessments and system tuning reviews
Work with internal departments to gather customer and transaction data
Stay current with regulatory updates and trends relevant to the role
Requirements:
Prior experience in a BSA, compliance, or audit role within a financial institution
Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and investigative processes
Understanding of regulatory requirements related to anti-money laundering and suspicious activity reporting
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and document findings clearly
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in banking or compliance
