DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our data pipelines and infrastructure. You will leverage your deep expertise in modern data processing technologies to build robust, scalable, and efficient solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical guidance, mentorship, and contribute to the strategic direction of our data engineering initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities and duties include:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Airflow, and Apache Beam.

Architect and optimize data ingestion, processing, and storage solutions for performance and scalability.

Design and implement robust and efficient data models and schemas.

Take a lead role in deploying, managing, and scaling data applications on Kubernetes.

Design and implement secure and efficient data storage and retrieval strategies utilizing S3-compatible buckets and related deployment processes.

Utilize advanced features of the Python programming language for complex data manipulation, pipeline development, and automation.

Drive code quality and best practices through code reviews and technical guidance.

Proactively monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and system performance, implementing effective solutions to ensure reliability.

Define and enforce data governance and security policies and ensure compliance.

Evaluate and recommend new data engineering technologies and approaches to enhance our capabilities.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level data engineers.

Contribute to the strategic planning and technical roadmap for our data infrastructure.

Lead the resolution of critical data-related issues and provide expert support.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants MUST

- must be able to qualify and maintain security clearance.

- have at least 3 years of Data Engineer experience and have a good understanding of professional business environments.

- be very friendly and able to calmly handle clients and staff

- be able to carry themselves in a professional manner

- be punctual, responsible, and reliable

- have good written and verbal communication skills (answering the phone and composing emails in a professional manner)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $113,000 per year excluding bonus and benefits.

Schedule:

The schedule for this position is project driven and can be highly variable depending on project deadlines and the specific needs of the software development teams.

Monday to Friday

Weekends as needed
