About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Android Developer with expertise in Java, Kotlin, and AWS to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in re-writing and optimizing our backend, ensuring seamless integration with field-deployed handheld Android devices. Your contributions will directly impact our technicians' ability to perform critical tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Android applications used on handheld devices in the field.

Refactor and enhance the backend architecture using Kotlin and AWS services.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition during the backend rewrite.

Optimize application performance for reliability and scalability in real-world conditions.

Implement best practices for security, data handling, and cloud-based integrations.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong experience with Java and Kotlin for Android development.

Proficiency in AWS services (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway).

Familiarity with Android SDK, Jetpack, and UI frameworks.

Experience working on applications designed for handheld field devices.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues in dynamic environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in transitioning legacy applications from Java to Kotlin.

Knowledge of offline data synchronization and network optimization.

Understanding of mobile security best practices.
