DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our data team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our data pipelines and infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and learn from experienced engineers as you help us build robust and scalable data solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities and duties include:

Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Airflow, and Apache Beam.

Learn and apply best practices for data ingestion, processing, and storage.

Contribute to the design and implementation of data models and schemas.

Deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes.

Work with S3-compatible buckets for data storage and retrieval, and participate in deployment processes involving these systems.

Utilize the Python programming language for data manipulation, pipeline development, and automation tasks.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality.

Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and system performance.

Collaborate with senior data engineers and data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Adhere to data governance and security policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants MUST

- must be able to qualify and maintain security clearance.

- have at least 3 years of Data Engineer experience and have a good understanding of professional business environments.

- be very friendly and able to calmly handle clients and staff

- be able to carry themselves in a professional manner

- be punctual, responsible, and reliable

- have good written and verbal communication skills (answering the phone and composing emails in a professional manner)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $85,000 per year excluding bonus and benefits.

Schedule:

The schedule for this position is project driven and can be highly variable depending on project deadlines and the specific needs of the software development teams.

Monday to Friday

Weekends as needed
