Summary
The Manager, Project Finance, will play a pivotal role in managing the project finance function for a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. This position will involve creating and managing complex financial models, analyzing financing structures, and coordinating due diligence processes for financing transactions.
The Manager will support the execution of project debt financings, equity buyouts, and asset sales, as well as work closely with external financing parties to ensure timely project closings and funding. Reporting to a Senior Project Finance Manager, this role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals with strong financial modeling skills and a deep understanding of renewable energy project economics.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage structured financial models to assess project and partnership-level performance of solar, wind, and storage projects.
Prepare marketing materials, including teasers and confidential information memorandums (CIMs), for internal and external stakeholders, and assist with financing processes.
Oversee the due diligence and closing process for financing transactions, including coordination with internal teams and external financial partners.
Review third-party reports (e.g., PPAs, financing agreements, technical reports) and integrate assumptions into financial models.
Assist the development team in evaluating potential financing structures for early-stage projects.
Manage, mentor, and provide guidance to junior team members.
Communicate effectively with internal business teams and external stakeholders.
Support various internal ad-hoc projects as required.
Education and Qualifications
5+ years of experience in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
Expertise in Microsoft Excel, with advanced proficiency in creating complex financial models.
Strong understanding of renewable energy project economics (solar, wind, storage) and related tax incentives.
Experience with various tax equity structures (e.g., partnership flips, inverted leases) and back leverage debt financing.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment with tight deadlines.
Experience preparing marketing materials (teasers, CIMs) and managing data rooms.
Strong qualitative and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
