A leading utility-scale solar and energy storage developer is seeking a Project Finance Associate to join its growing team. The company manages projects from greenfield development through operations, delivering de-risked investment opportunities to institutional partners.
Position Summary:
The Project Finance Associate will support the execution of M&A transactions, project-level financing, and corporate development initiatives across a diverse pipeline of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. This high-impact role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and external investors, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals with 3+ years of transactional finance experience and a passion for clean energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate project- and portfolio-level cash flows, IRRs, and return metrics.
Support the execution of tax equity, debt, and M&A transactions, including term sheet negotiation and closing documentation.
Manage due diligence processes across active and prospective transactions, including data room setup and investor Q&A.
Partner cross-functionally with internal teams—development, legal, engineering, and operations—to ensure alignment and execution of financing milestones.
Prepare investment memos, board presentations, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning, capital deployment, and project optimization decisions.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support the onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
Strong familiarity with infrastructure or renewable energy transactions; experience with solar and battery storage preferred.
Advanced Excel modeling skills and a solid understanding of corporate finance, capital structures, and accounting principles.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present clearly to senior executives, investors, and external partners.
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data room platforms a plus.
