We have an exciting opportunity in our Collections Department for a Collections Assistant Manager.
As a Collections Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the leadership and success of the Collections team. You will help drive results through coaching, development, and compliance while ensuring members receive compassionate, solutions-focused service during financial hardship. Key Responsibilities:
Coach, mentor, and develop Collections team members to achieve department goals, demonstrating a commitment to Empowerment and team success.
Support and oversee daily collections activities across credit cards, consumer loans, indirect loans, home equity, and first mortgages to ensure accurate and timely follow-up, reflecting our value of Excellence in service and operations.
Leverage working knowledge of bankruptcies and loss mitigation to support members with integrity and compassion, ensuring compliance and appropriate handling of complex financial situations.
Collaborate closely with the Collections Manager to guide team strategy, share insights, and build a high-performing department rooted in Collaboration and shared accountability.
Lead efforts to read, review, and update collections policies and procedures, identifying ways to improve efficiency, align with regulations, and advance our culture of Innovation and continuous improvement.
Monitor compliance with regulatory guidelines (FDCPA, UCC, etc.), upholding the highest standards of Integrity in all collection practices.
Prepare and review departmental reports, identifying trends, measuring outcomes, and driving results through proactive recommendations and Excellence in execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of management experience in financial services or customer service.
Minimum 2 years of experience in coaching, training, or team leadership.
Familiarity with loan servicing, collections counseling, and bankruptcy processes is required.
Solid understanding of FDCPA, UCC, and other applicable regulations.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a passion for member advocacy and process improvement.
