Job Description
Primary Function: The Club Fit Instructor collaborates with the Club Fit Program Coordinator in delivering physical fitness and recreation to all Club sites with special attention to delivering grant objectives that fund the Athletics department.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Assists in planning and delivering the implementation of all Club Fit program components at all sites.

Plans and delivers the daily program curriculum activities with the youth participants at the site according to skill and grade levels to engage their active participation.
Ensures lessons delivered are aligned with the Georgia Department of Education’s Physical Education (P.E.)
Assists with marketing and promoting the Club Fit/Fit Zone program and all program components at site, school and in the surrounding community, including helping to educate parents of Club Fit participants.
Assists in enrolling youth participants in the Club Fit program on site.
Assists in the collection of baseline data and periodic benchmark data (including the required Fitness Grams) off all program participants at each site.
Monitors the well-being of all participants and individual student progress.
Assists with monitoring field trip opportunities to expose youth to life long and non-traditional sports) for all sites.
Encourages participants to continue with exercises and to make healthy choices outside the program activities (outside of school and/or after school program).
Ensure the proper maintenance and use of all Club Fit program equipment and supplies
Participates in regular BGCL training sessions as required.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Exercise authority, under the Club Fit Program Coordinator in problem solving relating to members utilizing guidance and discipline plan.
All other duties as assigned.
Relationships:
Internal: Maintains contact with all staff and members to ensure that outcomes for grants are measurable and effective.
External: Maintains appropriate contact with members, families, and the general public to give and obtain information, either in response to inquiries or as instructed by the Club Fit Program Coordinator.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Physical requirements include physical exertion such as lifting up to 40lbs, stretching, rigorous physical activity and bending in a Club setting as well as standing for long periods. The work environment is in a Club or school environment and includes interaction with youth ages 6-18 and can be noisy at time.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
A high school diploma is required. Some education or training experience post high school in physical education, nutritional education, and health or youth development is preferred.
Two or more years’ experience in directing and implementing youth, physical education or sports programs is required. Experience with Boys & Girls Clubs is preferred.
Ability to motivate Club members
Mandatory CPR/First Aid certification required.
Ability to communicate effectively with youth and adults.
Task oriented and task completion
Capacity to work with diverse backgrounds/cultures
Bi-lingual skills are helpful
