Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Computing Technical Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will become part of Peraton’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Datacenter Consolidation and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program managing a technical team of engineers supporting the DHS Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) biometric system. This position is one of three T3 managers leading a large enterprise T3 team. Each of the T3 managers are peers, but each manager has a team of 8-10 T3 engineers who report directly to them. The Tier 3 team maintains the cloud-based HART infrastructure by installing and configuring system software and hardware, monitoring system performance, resolving system and technical issues, documenting that work within the JIRA ticketing system, and supporting incident troubleshooting calls. The Tier 3 Manager closely interacts with government customers to achieve system objectives and implement government directed system updates.
This role is entirely telework based with core hours between 9 am – 3 pm (EST) Monday – Friday; there is occasional on-call after-hours support required when incidents occur and it is the candidate’s week to be on-call (typically one week, every 5-6 weeks. The applicant must reside and perform all work within the United States.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
Articulate intricate technological concepts in a clear and accessible manner for individuals without a technical background.
Lead and supervise a team of 8-10 Tier 3 cloud engineers.
Plan, Schedule, and monitor Tier 3 engineers in their day-to-day activity to ensure efficient and productive work in alignment with customer requirements.
Take direct escalations from customer and program leadership and be able to synthesize information together from a variety of sources, with the ability to convey this information directly to these leadership teams.
Experience leading a team comprised of multiple SysAdmins and O&M skillsets including: SQL, Python, Ruby, Splunk, and Ansible playbooks
Lead Tier 3 responses on incident bridges escalated from Tier 2 and the HART Incident Manager; ensuring the system is restored to normal operations within established Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Oversee the development of the O&M training and qualification programs to include training new engineers in their assigned role and on-call duties.
Guide and mentor new engineers through initial onboarding and on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
10 years of experience, should include some supervisory or lead experience.
Bachelors's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering or equivalent
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government agency level clearance (the DHS EOD, which you must have prior to starting)
Must have Cloud Systems management and/or administration experience
Expert knowledge of RHEL, OpenShift, Windows, and other open-source technologies.
Certification requirement:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Desired Qualifications:
AWS certifications are a PLUS but not required to start.
Experience with Splunk
Experience with Ansible Automation Platform
Experience with Jenkins, JFrog, and similar toolsets
Experience with AWS or AWS GovCloud & native AWS administrative tools and dashboards
Experience with JIRA Ticketing systems preferred

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
