Heating Venting & Air Conditioning Estimator

My name is Bill Stevens, and I have a new full time Heating, Venting and Air Conditioning Estimator opportunity available for a major firm located in Central Islip, Long Island that could be of interest to you, please review my specification below. The work schedule will be onsite in the firms office.

The firm is seeking a qualified HVAC Estimator who can play a crucial role in preparing estimates for new projects as well as ensuring cost control measures are being met.

Responsibilities:

Developing project schedules and timelines

Analyze and review construction plans, documents and specs to build scope of work, costs and contracts

Conduct analysis of drawings and specifications.

Reference architectural and structural drawings to identify scope overlaps and potential cost implications.

Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to verify pricing, scope, and compliance with project specifications.

Prepare and review change orders, submittal data, and contract documentation to maintain project compliance.

Work with project managers to understand and execute change order requests

Conduct quality take-offs from drawings.

Manage the full estimating process, from bid solicitation and preparation to proposal submission for HVAC projects.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for General Contractor and Construction initiatives, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Conduct estimates for HVAC trades to facilitate leveling and bid coverage assessments.

Prepare proposals.

Prepare preliminary construction budgets.

Prepare bid packages.

Review plans and issue RFIs.

Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to request bids/quotes.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree preferred but high school and equivalent work experience accepted

Previous construction and full-time estimating experience needed

Strong computer skills with any of the following: Bluebeam, Timberline, Nitro or Excel or any other additional Estimating type software.
