About the Role
Central Texas Recruiting is hiring a Hardware Engineer I to support operations at Fort George G. Meade, MD. This role involves analyzing, designing, deploying, and maintaining complex hardware systems in support of national security missions. You will work on projects that include hardware design, network architecture, equipment testing, and site installations — both CONUS and OCONUS.
This position is ideal for professionals experienced in SIGINT hardware solutions and hands-on system integration who thrive in dynamic and high-security environments.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze complex hardware systems and provide engineering solutions
Conduct site surveys and prepare Technical Design Packages (TDPs)
Organize and perform hardware deployments, installations, and configurations
Procure and conduct acceptance testing on hardware
Provide preventative and remedial maintenance
Document as-built configurations and prepare test reports
Train site personnel on hardware use
Recommend hardware specifications for acquisition
Configure and support a variety of devices: servers, networking equipment, storage, and specialized processors
Qualifications & Requirements
U.S. Citizenship Required
️ Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph Required
Education & Experience:
5+ years of experience as a Hardware Engineer supporting SIGINT-related systems
Bachelor’s degree in:
• Communications Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Computer Science
• Electrical Engineering
• Information Systems
• Mathematics
No degree? An additional 5 years of hardware engineering experience may be substituted
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience preparing installation guides, test procedures, and troubleshooting documentation
Familiarity with both CONUS and OCONUS deployment requirements
Strong documentation and reporting skills
