To provide administrative support to the appeals personnel/appeal team, such as assisting with faxing, scanning, uploading, mailing, phoning veterans, and any other necessary tasks in furtherance of the appeals work.
To assist Center of Excellence with customer service- answer phones, greet walk-in customers and clients, as well as assist with mail distribution.
Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of office practices and procedures and some knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to veterans' benefits.
Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Working skills in typing, personal computers, word processing equipment, and other office automation technology.
Ability to interpret laws, regulations, and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, agency officials and the public.
Experience in interviewing individuals and compiling and presenting information received.
Additional Considerations * A new probationary period will be required for all new Benefits employees who have not completed and currently maintain USDVA Accreditation, regardless of whether the employee has previously completed a state probationary period.
