Job Overview The Mechanic Assembler is responsible for assembly and disassembly of sub components during the remanufacturing process of transmissions or differentials.
The Mechanic Assembler position requires basic manufacturing background and experience and mechanical ability working with different tools and equipment.
Must comprehend and follow standard work and defined operating procedures, while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency as top priority.
Duties and Responsibilities * Accurate sub-assembly of component, utilizing operating procedures and quality standards for transmission and / or differentials * Disassembly of transmission and / or differentials sub-components * Qualification of new and salvaged components for reassembly * Cleaning and resurfacing useable parts for reassembly * Painting of components and finished goods * Detailing and grinding of components * Evaluation of components form, fit and function * Verification of components in the bill of materials * Follow all company quality standards and procedures * Properly using and maintaining all shop equipment, tools and measuring devices * Organization of the work area to ensure productive operation * Must be Safety conscious and strictly follow Safety policies * Understands basics lean principals and TAKT time * Perform additional functions as requested by management General Work Requirements * Must have high awareness of personal safety and the safety of others and strictly follow safety policies * Ability and willingness to learn and consistently follow standard work procedures to ensure quality and efficiency * Honesty and integrity * Dependable, punctual and self-motivated * Attention to quality details * Good teamwork and positive attitude Preferred, but not required qualifications * A high school degree or equivalent experience.
