Custodian

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a seasonal Sanitation Custodian to execute all sanitation and janitorial related duties and other various general labor tasks throughout the plant as assigned under direct supervision of the responsible department Manager or Sanitation Lead. This role will be responsible for the cleanliness and well-being of the facility in general at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June - October.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs duties assigned which include but are not limited to general plant, process machinery, facility buildings, grounds cleaning, all warehouses, restrooms, break rooms, and general sanitation assistance.

Follows all Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP's) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).

Ability to drive a forklift.

Ensures that all Safety Policies are followed and that proper safety equipment is being utilized, including but not limited to gloves, chemical suits (coats, pants), safety glasses, safety harnesses, and hearing protection, etc.

Trains annually in the usage and preparation of chemicals.

Requirements:

Excellent attendance record and is reliable.

Effective communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Compensation:

The wage is $20.60, with a 2nd shift differential of $.50 and a 3rd shift differential of $1.00.
