**Job Title: CNC Machinist/Programmer**
**Job Description**
As a CNC Machinist/Programmer, you will play a crucial role in setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment to produce high-quality products according to specifications, schedules, and quality standards. You will be responsible for full programming, setup, and operation of CNC Mills, with a focus on ensuring program runs clean and conducting quality checks.
**Responsibilities**
+ Read job specifications from build sheets, work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine material requirements.
+ Set up and operate multi-axis machining centers.
+ Identify and assess tools for applicable job requests.
+ Understand and apply G Code programming.
+ Manufacture parts to meet production and quality requirements.
+ Maintain equipment and tools in working order.
+ Track production via daily management and ERP system.
+ Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work area.
+ Ensure high quality standards are met.
+ Participate in events and continuous improvement/lean initiatives.
+ Maintain work cell through 5S and housekeeping.
+ Operate a forklift as needed.
+ Participate in special projects as required.
**Essential Skills**
+ Previous experience working on 4-axis mills.
+ 2-3 years CNC Machinist experience.
+ Ability to program, setup, and operate CNC machinery.
+ Experience with blueprints and tolerances.
+ Experience running Lathe equipment and machinery.

**Work Environment**
Work indoors in a climate-controlled industrial machine shop. First shift hours are 6am-4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with optional overtime on Fridays from 6am-2:30pm. The department is small with three team members, fostering a family-like environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gastonia, North Carolina.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
