About Atomic

Atomic Industries is reinventing how the physical world gets built. We use AI to design, simulate, and manufacture injection molds and high-volume parts with unprecedented speed and precision. Our vertically integrated factory operates as a software-defined system. We’re building the tooling and production foundation for a new era of American manufacturing.

We’re backed by top-tier venture firms and scaling quickly. This role is core to that growth.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Controller to own and scale the accounting function at Atomic as we prepare for our first financial audit and Series B. You will run day-to-day accounting operations, lead month-end close, implement internal controls, and ensure GAAP-aligned reporting. You’ll collaborate with the Head of Finance and work cross-functionally with the operations, engineering, and procurement teams to build a clean, auditable financial backbone for a complex real-world business.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on ownership, structure, and precision.

What You’ll Do

Accounting Operations

Own and execute monthly close, including revenue recognition, cost accounting, AP/AR, and reconciliations

Maintain clean, accurate records in QuickBooks Online

Supervise all accounting workflows within our ERP system (Fulcrum), including invoicing, job costing, and expense tracking

Manage the Procurement & Accounting Coordinator and any future bookkeeping/accounting hires

Administer our employee expense management platform (e.g., Brex), including policy and compliance oversight

GAAP Compliance & Audit Prep

Implement and document internal controls, including segregation of duties and audit trail procedures

Build on our audit framework to prepare the company for its first financial audit in 2026

Own GAAP-aligned accounting policies and reporting documentation

Serve as primary contact for external accounting firms and auditors

Inventory & Cost Controls

Lead inventory management and cost-tracking processes across our toolmaking and injection molding operations

Work with operations to ensure accurate COGS and job costing, including materials, labor, and overhead allocation

Create and enforce SOPs for physical inventory controls and cycle counting

Budgeting & Internal Reporting

Support company-wide budgeting alongside the Head of Finance

Lead cash flow tracking and maintain short- and medium-term financial visibility

Collaborate with the Head of Finance and engineering team to build ERP-integrated dashboards for internal reporting

Contribute to board and investor materials as needed

External Coordination

Manage third-party CPA firms for tax, state & local compliance, and R&D credit filings

Coordinate with external vendors for payroll and banking

Support diligence processes for future fundraising rounds and financial partnerships

What We’re Looking For

7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including cost accounting and inventory control in a manufacturing environment

Strong experience running close processes and preparing for GAAP compliance

Proven ability to manage and implement accounting systems and internal controls

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and ERP platforms (Fulcrum preferred)

Detail-oriented, process-driven, and able to create structure in a fast-moving company

Comfortable managing junior accounting staff and external vendors

Nice to Have

CPA or equivalent credential

Experience preparing for financial audits

Experience with ERP configuration and accounting workflow design

Familiarity with manufacturing, tooling, or high-mix production environments

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000

Equity: Competitive equity package

Bonus: Performance-based bonus tied to financial and operational milestones

Benefits: Full medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and relocation support if needed
