About Atomic
Atomic Industries is reinventing American manufacturing. We design, build, and run software-defined factories that make high-performance parts for the most demanding applications on earth. Our vertically integrated approach combines AI-powered design tools, advanced simulation, and autonomous tool-making with full-scale production—all under one roof. We're a team of engineers, operators, and technologists who believe the future is built with atoms, not just bits.
Role Overview
We're hiring an IT Specialist to take ownership of our growing IT infrastructure across multiple physical and cloud environments. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, security, scaling, and support of IT systems that span our production facility, engineering team, and remote operations. You’ll work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient connectivity for mission-critical operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll build and run the IT backbone of a modern industrial company, from network topology to endpoint security to internal tools. As we scale, you’ll help grow the IT team and define the standards for technology operations across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain secure networks, VPNs, and connectivity across offices, production floors, and cloud platforms
Manage internal systems including email, file sharing, device provisioning, access control, and communications
Own security protocols for internal systems and work with leadership on access policies and compliance
Support hardware and software procurement, setup, and lifecycle management for both plant and office environments
Serve as the go-to resource for troubleshooting and resolving internal IT issues
Interface with engineering, finance, and operations teams to define and implement IT requirements
Support ERP implementation, database systems, and integrations with shop floor software
Document and scale internal IT processes as we grow
Qualifications
Must-haves:
4+ years experience managing IT systems in an industrial, manufacturing, or startup environment
Experience with enterprise networking (firewalls, routing, VLANs), endpoint management, and cloud infrastructure
Strong knowledge of device management (Windows, Mac, Linux) and SaaS administration (Google Workspace, Slack, etc)
Track record of leading or being part of ERP, MRP, or other infrastructure rollouts
Deep comfort with high-autonomy, high-accountability environments
Nice-to-haves:
Experience in manufacturing environments (on-premise CNC machines, printers, PLCs, shop floor sensors)
Security certifications or experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., CMMC, NIST, SOC 2)
Prior experience hiring or managing a small IT team
Experience scripting automation for internal processes (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc)
Compensation
Base Salary: $85,000–$120,000 depending on experience
Equity: Meaningful early-stage equity
Benefits: Full medical, dental, and vision. 401k. Paid time off. Onsite perks and flexible work options.
