QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Education: High School Diploma (or GED) (Preferred).

Basic knowledge of Public Mental Health, Child Welfare, and Education systems, and the ability to advocate on the behalf of Native American individuals with lived experience in navigating and negotiating those systems

A minimum of one year’s experience with advocacy, outreach, coordination, and/or community resources preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Position Specific

Work closely with CWS to develop a structure and vision for the Shared Leadership Advisory Group.

Connect with the community and those impacted by CWS involvement to market the group and development membership.

Attends weekly staff meetings, consultation, and other program staff meetings as scheduled

Engage, interview and screen families, youth and community members to become potential members of the Advisory Group

Maintains positive relationships with consumers and system partners

Provide support and navigation to Native Americans impacted by Child Welfare

Provide support and feedback to the advisory group members and needed

Facilitate Shared Leadership Advisory Group meetings, at a frequency mutually agreed upon between Solano County CWS partners, and on days/times that work best for the majority of the group

Create agendas and take notes for all Shared Leadership Advisory Group meetings

Meet with the Solano CWS Department and aid in family cases of Native Americans

Collaborate with Parent Partners

Maintains accurate and timely records

Assists Program Leadership in program implementation and evaluation

Aids in the collaboration, development, and training of Solano County workers and Native American Community for positive and restorative practices

Agency Specific

Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.

Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values

Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed

Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers

Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills

Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

Employment At-Will

Employment at the Agency is terminable at-will, which means that employment may be

terminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency. In

addition the Agency may also demote, layoff, transfer or reassign employees at any time at its

sole discretion without cause or reason.
