Reporting to the CIO, the Director ERP Systems develops, plans, implements and maintains the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications for the Davis-Standard business unit and other global corporate systems in coordination with applications to fulfill the Company’s operating objectives. With a focus on Epicor (Kinetic and E10), you will design platform architecture solutions; manage the development lifecycle; articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for platform architecture and business process across four sites (Connecticut, New York, Toronto and Suzhou).

As part of a market leading, US based, global multi-sites engineering and manufacturing company, the Director, ERP Systems will work in an international and multicultural environment and will play a key role in the company’s digital transformation. The position is based out of our Pawcatuck, CT location and will:
Contribute to the harmonization of the Business processes across the whole organization
Support and optimize integrations (in/out) between ERP Systems and Salesforce to create process efficiencies and feed Business Insights
Challenge current systems setup, customization and interfaces against new features offered by new versions and Company business objectives
Lead the implementation and upgrades for Epicor Kinetic with new organizational processes with alignment to recently completed manufacturing process Global Design
Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future systems requirements to meet organizational needs and business targets.
Determine project scope, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities and monitors progress for the ERP and Corporate systems.
Manage team, based in multiple locations/geographic zones in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
Manage external partners to deliver implementation program goals and facilitate best practice conversations with key business users and stakeholders
Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
Essential Responsibilities
Manages the ERP applications/Corporate Systems for specified client departments and acts as the key technical liaison between computer systems users, vendors and Information Services
Acts as primary contact for all application systems problems. Analyzes and documents problem, recommends solution, initiates corrective actions. Follows up on problem resolution and Informs clients of status utilizing the service/help desk functionality
Serves as the information resource for client users, including determination of the most appropriate data source, providing or arranging application-based report writing, or educating users to retrieve the information themselves
Coordinates with in-house developments and third-party development partners and integrators
Formulates system scope and design objectives through research and fact-finding to configure vendor-maintained systems or develop and modify in-house systems.
Prepares detailed specifications from which vendor systems are configured and implemented.
Meets with business stakeholders to continually improve the ERP and Corporate systems.
Creates special data analysis requirements from management
Maintains overall systems processes and support continual business process improvements.
Helps developing/maintain data exchange or interfaces between ERP and other systems (CAD, PLM, CRM/Salesforce, Financial Consolidation)
Coordinates version upgrade of CAD systems with respective Engineering Departments.
Provides proactive support for ERP systems and related projects
Ensures end users are getting proper support and training on the system
Ensures system documentation is maintained and available
Skills required:
Seven years or more of managing ERP systems in a Manufacturing environment
Experience Order to Cash, Procure to Pay functionality and Manufacturing processes (Shop Orders, Make to Order, Engineering to Order, Project Manufacturing).
Good knowledge of Costing (Standard Costing, Weighted Average) and Accounting (Cost of Goods sold, Inventory Cost, Financial Statements)
Experience leading Epicor upgrade project (preferably to Kinetic) and data migration experience that includes architecting historical archive repositories
Fair knowledge of PLM and CAD systems (Pro.file, Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works, ePlan)
Experience with end-to-end business process optimization.
Ability to interact with business requirements and convert them to systems solutions
Ability to perform data analysis and enable business decisions
Working knowledge of SQL
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels in an organization
Ability to work in a multi-systems / multi-locations / multi-companies and geographically diverse environment
Qualifications required:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field
Analytical skills and business process analysis
Motivate and lead the team members to meet the project objectives and manage any conflicts.
