Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the design and documentation of Electronic Security Systems
Create and review technical drawings including floorplans, single line diagrams and electrical control panels
Review plans and specifications to ensure design meets requirements
Prepare materials list based on design requirements
Prepare project documentation packages for use in field installation
Process change order requests and update project design documents
Provide Support to Installation and Service teams for issues elevated to design engineering
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications/Expectations
Typically performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments. Oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. May guide and train less experienced engineers. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Basic understanding of electrical circuits (AC & DC)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of basic computer networking
Working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control Fundamentals
Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers
Familiarity with NEC
Strong attention to detail
Strong AutoCAD skills
Ability to work with members of a team
Ability to multitask
Strong communication skills with ability to understand and articulate ideas verbally and in writing
Education, Certifications, Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
5 – 10 years relevant work experience will improve candidacy.
Working Conditions
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk for extended periods (at least 50% of the time).
Occasionally move about inside the office to access office equipment and other resources.
Operate a computer and related software for prolonged periods, and use office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copier, and printer.
Be able to engage in repetitive motions, such as typing and using a mouse.
Communicate effectively, conveying information and ideas clearly so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these interactions.
