Senior Silicon Engineer

The Azure Data Processing Unit (DPU) team brings together state-of-the-art software and hardware expertise to create a highly programmable and high-performance chip with the capability to efficiently handle large data volumes. Thanks to its integrated design, this solution empowers Azure to develop solutions for solving the next generation problems with increased agility and performance leveraging the DPU’s compute, storage, and networking capabilities.

We are looking for a Senior Silicon Engineer to join our team!

Functional validation of ASIC SOC at Block, Cluster or Fullchip using UVM/C test bench

Assist with Hardware Emulation efforts

Develop Test Plan and write unit tests for functional validation

Create stress and performance scenarios to meet Test Plan goals

Create and Manage regression suites, debug failures, and drive timely resolution

Provide firmware in C for software team

Innovate to improve validation efficiency through methodologies and tools

Requirements Qualifications

Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience

OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience

OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience with ASIC verification flow.

2+ years of experience with Verilog, System Verilog, and UVM based testbench environment.

Programming skills in C/C++

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, PCIe, or High Speed Memory Technologies

Good understanding of Computer Architecture

Experience in pre-silicon validation on Emulation platform

Experience with Hardware Emulation

Silicon Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
