AcroBlue Commercial Staffing is seeking a dedicated Materials Lab Technician to join our client's team. The primary responsibility for this role is the measurement and testing of plastic pipes using hand tools and hydrostatic pressurization testing equipment. All necessary training will be provided after hire, ensuring you have the tools and skills to excel in this role.
Principal Accountabilities:
Perform pressure testing on plastic pipe samples.
Prepare test samples by cutting, capping, dimensioning, filling with water, attaching hoses, and setting up equipment for testing.
Schedule and conduct testing based on laboratory needs and client requirements.
Work closely with laboratory personnel to ensure efficient scheduling and testing processes.
Maintain instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition, and keep detailed documentation.
Adhere to all safety and health policies and procedures.
Ensure the accuracy of test results, including precise transcription and recording in project files.
Comply with corporate and laboratory QA/QC standards.
Perform other duties as required to support laboratory operations.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (or currently working towards a degree).
Experience using hand tools such as impact drills, saws, and wrenches.
A background in construction or plumbing is desirable.
Basic knowledge of PC/Windows software (Word, Excel).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with laboratory QA/QC plans and procedures.
Highly motivated to complete tasks accurately and on schedule.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with basic laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of piping, plumbing, hydraulic, or related systems.
Experience with ASTM or ISO standards.
Experience with laboratory notebook upkeep.
Previous work in a laboratory or testing environment.
Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Plastics Technology, or related field.
