Network Engineer

Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on technical proficiency and a passion for optimizing network performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Cisco products.

Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, STP, VTP, HSRP, VRRP, and EtherChannel.

Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure network scalability and reliability.

Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Lead network upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.

Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Expert-level knowledge of Cisco Catalyst (e.g., 9000 series) and Nexus (e.g., 5000, 7000, 9000 series) switches.

Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies.

Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, NetFlow).

Experience with SDN solutions (e.g., Cisco ACI).

Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).

Knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, and wireless technologies.
