Systems Administrator

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure in Saint Charles, Missouri. This Contract position involves ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of systems while providing technical support for daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing servers, networks, and virtual environments while contributing to the organization's cybersecurity efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage both Windows and Linux servers to ensure optimal system performance.

• Oversee Active Directory environments, including file shares, group policies, and user management.

• Monitor system performance and availability, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.

• Develop and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data.

• Regularly apply operating system patches, software updates, and security configurations.

• Manage virtual environments using technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.

• Collaborate with network administrators to address network-related issues and maintain connectivity.

• Assist in identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks by implementing security protocols and tools.

• Document system configurations, updates, and processes to maintain clear records.

• Support automation initiatives through scripting tools like PowerShell or Bash.• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.

• Proficiency in virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.

• Familiarity with Active Directory and IT service management frameworks.

• Understanding of networking concepts and basic firewall management.

• Strong knowledge of system security practices, including endpoint protection and patch management.

• Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills to address technical challenges effectively.

• Exposure to technologies such as Cisco, Citrix, Dell, and firewall solutions.
