Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Scarborough, Maine. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, customer invoicing, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process a high volume of accounts payable invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices while ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of transactions, vendor files, and financial data.
• Reconcile statements and address discrepancies in invoices to ensure financial accuracy.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and organizing documents.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and customers to resolve issues and provide updates.
• Support the team with special projects and other administrative responsibilities as needed.
• Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial data efficiently.• Proven experience in accounting roles, especially in accounts payable and billing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to follow up effectively.
• Comfort in working with technology and navigating multiple systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Familiarity with reconciling bank statements and coding invoices is highly desirable.
