Are you a Mechanical Designer who creates 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings from written product information? Can you visualize the complete product design based on customer information, sketches, and drawings to create the 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings?

The right person will determine best design for the customers’ application based on provided documentation, customer quotation, additional information and product knowledge. They will complete all drawings according to the customer requirements, design schedule and in accordance with company standards, procedures, policies, codes, regulations and best engineering practices, and utilize standard product lines and knowledge of metal fabrication, assembly and interactions between lift components to create drawings that provide the best solutions to the customers’ specific application.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Calculates the specific lift parameters from the baseline product for the customers’ particular application.

Discusses and resolves project issues and concerns in partnership with Project Management and/or Sales Departments.

Provides design details to Product Engineering team members.

Participates in the resolution of any design errors that may arise and contributes to the refinement and development of departmental processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an Associate Degree in a technical, design or related discipline.

Requires proficiency in Auto-CAD and at least 2 years of hands on experience in a fast-paced, team environment for a manufacturing business.

Requires knowledge of and the ability to develop proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.

Requires the ability to create 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings from written product information following company standards.

Requires the ability to visualize customer information, sketches or drawings to complete the product design.

Requires the ability to learn and understand the product line, the interactions between product components and the metal fabrication and assembly process.

Requires the ability to calculate specific lift parameters from the baseline product.

Requires computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Requires strong organizational skills, detail orientation and a high degree of accuracy.

Requires excellent research and problem-solving skills and the ability and desire to participate in the development and implementation of practical solutions.

Requires excellent internal customer service skills.

Requires excellent communication skills and fluency in English to effectively relay verbal and written information in an effective, tactful and diplomatic manner.

Requires self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requires the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines while producing accurate and high-quality detail work.

Requires the ability to use basic office equipment: fax, voicemail, copier, calculator, etc.
