The Warehouse Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating all Shipping and Receiving warehouse functions to ensure the finished product is received and shipped correctly and on time, as per company requirements and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, verify accuracy and coordinate logistics - reduce detention charges, overages, damage and cuts
Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing and shipping of customer orders. Track individual performance of their team members
Identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements and enhance workflow
Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments and warehouse activities and generate reports as needed
Ensure that warehouse equipment forklifts, pallet jacks are properly maintained and operational coordinating with Maintenance for any repair needed
Reports discrepancies in timely manner to production to reduce cuts
Coordinate transfers of Finished products and materials to external warehouse and other locations as needed
Perform cycle counting for finished goods and coordinates the investigation of discrepancies as needed.
Maintain the storage of finished goods and raw materials in optimal condition and coordinate required inspections with QA to avoid pest infestations
Conducts a semiannual physical inventory of finished goods 5 months prior to the annual physical inventory.
Provide training to employees as needed as well as best practices and safety protocols
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Conduct routine inspections to racks, reporting any damage and repairs that may be needed, as well as conduct investigations on damage inflicted to racks
Guarantee that all transactions are processed and entered correctly in Tiger system
Active participation for 3rd party and customer audits and regulatory agency inspections
Manage relationship with logistic vendors for the transportation of finished good
Coordinate training of all direct reports in SQF, Food Safety and GMP's
Organize and oversee and approved schedules and work of the direct reports
Covers temporary absence of the Procurement/Material supervisor
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required education and experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum two years previous experience in a Supervisory role in distribution or manufacturing required.
A minimum of five years of direct shipping and receiving experience in distribution or manufacturing required.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines and constantly changing priorities.
Ability to implement programs designed to enhance plant operations and to promote safety.
Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions with little or no guidance.
Must be proactive and continuously looking for improvements in the warehouse functions.
Effectively communicate questions, problems and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to meet deadlines and make decisions based on accepted guidelines
Must be flexible and adaptable to daily changes in priorities, job duties and environment
Must be able to present/recommend solutions to problems arising due to the change
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work well with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment.
Effectively communicate questions, problems and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Valid Driver's License.
Preferred education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or agriculture is preferred.
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
