As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking Payment Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Design and implement database solutions based on business requirements.

Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems.

Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications.

Monitor database performance and make necessary improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Create and maintain documentation related to database design and development.

Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.

Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

Proven experience as a Database Developer

Strong knowledge of leading the end-to-end migration of data from WPI to iAccess (a must)

Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and development.

Familiarity with data modeling and database design concepts.

Experience with performance tuning and optimization.

Knowledge of data security and privacy practices.

Customer focus, Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
