As a Lead Software Engineer AI/ML/AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance Java microservices and AWS Serverless applications.
Architect and develop solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and more.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements.
Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of applications.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them to improve existing systems and processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Extensive experience with AWS Serverless technologies, including Lambda and Step Functions.
Excellent knowledge of software development and testing practices, including TDD, BDD, and automated testing and continuous delivery frameworks and methods.
Proven track record of leading and delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with Agentic AI technologies and frameworks.
Familiarity with AI-driven decision-making processes and autonomous systems.
Ability to integrate AI solutions into existing software architectures.
