IT Analytics Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Analytics Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing our data infrastructure and driving data-informed decisions. This role will be instrumental in optimizing and integrating Elite's existing information systems while architecting and scaling new analytics solutions to address the evolving needs of both internal teams and external clients. You will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights through robust data modeling, meticulous data stewardship practices (including acquisition, cleaning, warehousing, and visualization), and effective communication of findings. Leveraging project management best practices, you will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data products that directly support strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and optimize scripts and applications to improve processes, increase organizational effectiveness, and drive down the cost of doing business

Ensure that all data captured in new systems can be accessed via an API for storage in Elite’s data warehouse

Write functional, efficient code (see qualifications for specific programming requirements)

Use Github to manage changes to documents, programs, web applications, cloud functions, queries, etc.

Meet with staff regularly to understand and prioritize business and information needs

Create and maintain documentation on development workflows and processes

Stay plugged in to emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities

Develop databases, pipelines, transformations, and visualizations to improve processes, increase organizational effectiveness, and drive down the cost of doing business

Facilitate anytime/anywhere access to reports and visualizations that allow stakeholders to discover, track, and share metrics, KPIs, and patterns/trends

Provide support to other IT employees (e.g. covering on days off, assisting with projects, etc.)

Project management

Programming and scripting (HTML/CSS, XML, Javascript, Python, R, ETL/ELT frameworks)

RESTful API requests and responses (JSON format)

Version control (Git/Github)

Cloud functions (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS Lambda)

Business intelligence platforms (e.g., Sisense, Tableau, Looker)

Databases and data warehousing (SQL, PostgreSQL, T-SQL, Redshift)

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong analytical skills: collecting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting detailed information accurately.

Proficient in queries, report writing, and presenting findings.

Effective problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving abilities.

Organizational & Time Management Skills:

Strong organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines and budget constraints, demonstrating business acumen.
