IT Engineer $33 Hour to $40 Hour - Piedmont, SC -

M-F 8 AM - 5 PM

Workbox client is a Worldwide Automotive Manufacturer currently in need of a recent IT graduate who is interested in building a career in the manufacturing industry. This opportunity when hired offers many benefits and career growth.

An entry-level IT Engineer typically supports existing IT infrastructure, provides technical assistance, and may assist with new deployments. They often work closely with other IT professionals to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth system operation. Responsibilities may include installing and configuring hardware and software, maintaining networks and computer systems, and providing technical support to users.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Common Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting and Support:

Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware, software, and network systems.

Hardware and Software Management:

Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

Network Support:

Assisting with network maintenance, troubleshooting network connectivity problems, and ensuring network security.

User Support:

Providing technical assistance to users, answering questions, and resolving technical problems.

System Monitoring:

Monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and taking preventative measures.

Documentation:

Documenting system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and solutions.

New Technology Integration:

Assisting with the deployment of new technologies and ensuring they integrate smoothly with existing systems.

Research and Development:

Staying up-to-date with the latest IT trends and technologies.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.

Experience with network protocols and technologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A bachelor's degree in a related field is often preferred, but relevant experience and certifications can also be valuable.

In general, ensure the achievement of targets for the individual Business Units.

Additional task may include but will not be limited to:

Work with area maintenance planners to prioritize tasks to be done during non-production hours.

Ensure scheduled maintenance tasks are completed and on time.

Identify training needs for Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Weld Technicians. Provide requirements to the Technical Manager and training department.

Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor for performance appraisal documentation.

Provide leadership and direction during equipment downtime situations. ITTechnician must be able to make good judgment decisions on technical matters and interface effectively with supervisors.

Ensures Root Cause of downtime is properly investigated and addressed.

Being competent with computer and robotic related software. (C++, C+, Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Text Editor, etc.).

Attending QID 2-hour meetings on the shop floor as needed.

Update verification forms when needed.

Maintain safety standards of equipment in the work area.

Position Requirements:

Communication Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Manufacturing Environment:

Examples are 1) Transports materials or inspects building, equipment, and other items; 2) Operates computers or other office equipment; and 3) Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Physical demands should be described in terms of what must be done and not in terms of physical or mental attributes. Identify the key physical demands required to perform the essential function of the job and indicate whether the responsibility is performed occasionally (“O”), frequently (“F”), or constantly (“C”).

Walks to and works in production areas. (F)

Works 10-12 hours per day (F)

Works weekends as required (F)

Works shift models as required (F)

Education and/or Experience

Technical Associates Degree - BA and/or BS requiredTechnical knowledge will be demonstrated through a technical assessment prior to hire, lateral move, or promotion.

Minimum 1-4 years of IT Engineering technical experience required.

Education:

BA or BS in IT engineering required

Experience:

2 years (Preferred)

Programmable Logic Controllers: 2 years (Preferred)

Robot programming: 3 years (Preferred)

1 Manufacturing environment experience (Preferred)
