SHINE Technologies is seeking a CAD Designer to focus on the design of plant systems including: process systems (piping, pressure vessels, pumps, valves, etc.), HVAC, Fire Protection, civil/structural systems, cooling systems, electrical distribution, architectural features, etc. The AutoCAD and Revit 3D models will be used for the coordination of design and construction activities including interference identification, seismic evaluations, generation of piping isometrics, and various drawing to support construction activities and operations.
The base salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the CAD Designer include, but are not limited to:
CAD Designer will create and/or modify 3D Models including: components, process skids, facility plans (mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, etc.), and general details from a variety of vendors and CAD/BIM software.
CAD Designer will use AutoCAD Plant 3D to Create and/or modifying Process Flow Diagram’s (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagram’s (P&ID) and Plant and System piping.
Create and/or modify 3D models and associated detailed 2D drawings for structural and architectural design using Revit.
CAD Designer will complete the drafting of complex piping drawings given basic information such as P&ID's, General Arrangements (GA), piping specifications, equipment arrangement drawings, etc.
Modifying 3D models (tanks, vessels, and equipment including piping) with the use of AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Revit.
Detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Revit.
Walk down of plant systems and use AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit to document the As-Built conditions as required.
Actively work across the engineering organization to identify and resolve design conflicts and update the integrated model accordingly.
Designing systems to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the facility, equipment, and controls required for the production and processing of medical isotopes and fissile solutions.
Requirements:
Associate degree in engineering or a related discipline and ~3 to 5 years of recent design experience or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline with recent design experience.
Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD (Plant 3D toolset desired) and/or Revit
SolidWorks experience is a plus
Familiarity with Drafting and Design Standards.
Detail oriented with the ability to provide design recommendations to other designers and engineers.
Experience with the design of systems from the ground up, including responsibility for basic design considerations.
Relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements depending on the candidate.
The following qualifications may make a candidate stand out:
Candidates with strong AutoCAD and/or Revit experience are highly preferred.
Hands on field/R&D experience or construction oversight.

Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
