Summary The Assistant Director of Admission position functions as a vital member of a high performing enrollment management team.
The Assistant Director is responsible for the energetic execution of various recruitment activities ranging from recruitment travel to the being a vital connection for admitted applicants to new W&J students each semester.
Not only along with the other team members of the Enrollment Management team, the Assistant Director works collaboratively with coaches, faculty, and other departments as we recruit and support students during their college journey.
Duties and Responsibilities From inquiry to enrollment, manage recruitment territory goals by initiating, responding, and fostering connecting relationships with prospective students and their families Build and maintain a recruitment territory, including domestic travel throughout the year but concentrated primarily in the fall peak recruitment season Represent the values, missions and brand of Washington & Jefferson College Rely on market data and performance metrics to develop and evaluate recruitment efforts Conduct interviews and tours for prospective students, and parents/family members Guide students and families through the admission application process, including questions regarding timelines, scholarships & financial aid, and admission decisions.
Evaluate applications for admission and make recommendations for the admissions committee regarding individual student applications Assist and attend all campus recruitment events including evenings and weekends Communicate with prospective students and their families via phone, email, text, and other means of communications Provide extraordinary student-centric customer service Maintain alignment with a peer professional network of professionals and appropriate organizations Additional duties as assigned, which may include event planning, communication development, outreach and awareness initiatives, and leadership in a variety of areas such as social media marketing, targeted recruitment efforts towards select groups of students, and special projects.
Qualifications A bachelor's degree, 1- 3 years of relevant work experience preferred, and a valid driver's license are required.
We are looking for candidates with demonstrated excellence in writing, oral communication and oral presentations; knowledge of and an enthusiasm for a liberal arts education; proven ability to organize and follow through on projects; information technology competency; willingness to travel; and evidence of the ability to establish rapport easily with a wide variety of people.
Additional Criteria On-site/flexible work schedule with primary schedule Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Valid driver's license is required Willingness to travel for extended periods Available for work on weekends and evenings as needed Willingness to carry recruitment materials Ability to pass background check and child abuse clearances Supervisory Duties The position does not require managing other employees.
