Overview:

Our client is a fast-paced stock trading firm seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant with a strong background in the trading industry. The ideal candidate will support the finance and operations teams by handling stock-related reporting, soft dollar accounting, and full-cycle invoicing for trading transactions.

Responsibility of Accounting Assistant:

Generate and analyze stock trading reports for internal and client use

Maintain accurate records and reconciliation of soft money accounts

Process accounts payable and receivable related to stock trades

Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities

Collaborate with traders, vendors, and finance team to ensure transaction accuracy

Qualifications for the Accounting Assistant role:

Prior experience in a stock trading or financial services environment (required)

Strong understanding of soft money/soft dollar arrangements

Proficiency in AP/AR functions, especially related to financial instruments

Bonus Skills:

Experience with trading platforms or financial software

Knowledge of SEC and financial compliance standards

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
