What You Will Do
As a Network Engineer, you will perform advanced network engineering services to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a large-scale enterprise LAN and CAN infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring high network availability, executing modernization initiatives, and delivering Tier-3 technical support. Your expertise will help maintain service levels and drive the secure and efficient operation of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, document, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise network architectures, including VLANs, OSPF areas, and core/distribution/access layers
Provide Tier-3 support for network issues, equipment upgrades, and service turn-ups
Collaborate with service delivery, operations, security, installation, and systems engineering teams to meet SLAs and contract objectives
Perform hands-on configuration and support of routing protocols, VoIP, QoS, multicast, VPNs, Ethernet, and firewalls
Utilize network management tools (MFNA, SolarWinds, GEMX) to monitor network performance, analyze traffic, and identify issues
Recommend and implement corrective actions to ensure network performance and reliability
Support datacenter connectivity and enterprise-wide end-user access
Required Skills and Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and protocols including OSPF, QoS, multicast, VLANs, VPNs, and Ethernet
Strong understanding of network security and firewall configurations
Proficiency with tools such as SolarWinds, GEMX, and MFNA for performance monitoring and diagnostics
Practical experience working with Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, or similar network hardware
Ability to produce technical documentation and diagrams
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsEducation and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in network engineering supporting contracts of similar scope and complexity
Four (4) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of the bachelor’s degreeCertifications
Both of the following certifications are REQUIRED at time of hire:
IAT Level II baseline certification per DoD 8570.01-M (e.g., Security+ CE, CYSA, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CASP, or CISM)
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent industry certificationClearance Requirement:
Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
