Our mini assisted living setting allows caregivers and residents ample time for connection, increasing life skills, and enjoying daily life.

Olive Branch is looking for exceptional Direct Support Professionals to join our team. The ideal candidate will be available to work either Full-Time or Part-Time.

Overview

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the day program. This position will assist participants in achieving individual goals, promote independence, and facilitate meaningful experiences. The DSP will provide program leadership in the director's absence.

Duties

Provide direct support and supervision to participants in various activities.

Always ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

Assist individuals with activities of daily living, personal care, and hygiene as needed, respecting their dignity and privacy.

Facilitate skill-building activities that promote independence, self-confidence, and social interaction.

Execute daily programming including sensory, social, physical, and mindfulness activities and community outings.

Prepare, organize, and gather curriculum for daily activities.

Become knowledgeable of each participant’s service plan.

Drive participants safely to and from the day center.

Administer medications as needed.Requirements:

Ability to perform direct care responsibilities, transportation, and supervising activities and outings.

Ability to follow written care plans, communicate changes in participants’ conditions, dispense medications, and write incident reports.

Ability to communicate with participants’ care team, community members, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.

Ability to calmly resolve participant concerns, handle emergency situations, and seek additional assistance when needed.

Ability to handle money for participant expenses and account for those funds for each individual.

Willingness to be a backup to colleagues as needed

Working knowledge of the English language

Sound physical health that allows for performing activities that use the whole body, the ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach overhead, stoop, kneel, and crouch up to eight hours a day

Sound mental health that allows working in a fast-paced environment and can accommodate challenging situations

Pass criminal, civil, and Wisconsin Caregiver background checks

Possess a valid driver’s license without any DWI, DUI, or reckless driving convictions in the past seven years and no more than two traffic tickets in the past three years

High school diploma or GED

Preferred

Associate’s or bachelor's degree in a field related to healthcare, human services, or social work.
