Position Overview:
We are seeking a DevOps Architect to own and elevate out build, release, and deployment processes for our Saas dealership management platform, which uses C/C++ on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend. You will partner closely with development, QA and release teams to define best practices, automate pipelines end to end, and ensure smooth, reliable delivery of new features and urgent fixes. In addition, you will step in to code critical bug fixes or hotfixes as needed.
Location: Remote
Salary Range: $105,000 to $115,000 Annually
Key Responsibilities:
Cl/CD Strategy & Architecture
Design, implement, and maintain robust pipelines (Dev Test Prod)
Define branching and Git workflows (feature branching, GitFlow, trunk-based, )
Automate build, test, packaging, and deployment of both C/C++ services and Vue UI components
Best-Practice Evangelism
Establish standards for "pipeline-as-code," config management, environment parity, and rollback/recovery
Create documentation, runbooks, and conduct training across teams
Toolchain Ownership
Administer and optimize Git repositories (access control, hooks, submodules)
Evaluate and integrate Cl/CD platforms
Implement and oversee artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory) and container registries
Release Engineering & Coordination
Package release artifacts and coordinate hand-off to Release Managers
Define and enforce gating policies (smoke tests, security scans, approvals)
Monitor deployments and drive continuous improvement in reliability and lead time
Reactive Support & Continuous Improvement
Triage and troubleshoot pipeline failures, deployment issues
Write (or coordinate with development) and ship hotfixes or patches for existing software
Analyze metrics (build frame, failure rate, MTTR) and propose tooling or process optimizations
Required Qualifications:
5+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Release Engineering for a Saas product
Proven track record designing and operating automated CI/CD pipelines
Deep expertise with Git-based workflows and repository management
Hands-on with at least one major CI/CD platform (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and "pipeline as code" experience (Jenksfiles, YAML, HCL)
Solid C/C++ coding skills with the ability to triage and fix backend issues directly
Excellent communication skills and ability to teach best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience containerizing applications and orchestrating with Docker/Kubernetes
Exposure to frontend frameworks – Vue.js experience is a plus
Knowledge of CI/CD security (SAST, DAST, secrets management)
Certifications in DevOps or Cloud (e.g. AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA)
SOC2 compliance experience
