LACOE is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join its team in support of the BEST Project — a major system modernization initiative serving over 125 school districts, community colleges, and education agencies.
In this role, the Business Intelligence Analyst will play a key part in supporting districts that have gone live, fulfilling reporting requests, and troubleshooting data and reporting issues. The analyst will work closely with both internal and external users to gather requirements, develop new reports and data models, and ensure analytics solutions effectively meet client needs.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Data access through the use of SQL and Business Intelligence (BI) software such as Business Object, Microsoft Power BI, or equivalent data retrieval tools
BI practices and related technologies
Principles of data integration and tools

Required Education and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree with major coursework in information technology, computer science, business administration, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Three years of experience with data modeling, gathering and writing business requirements, and developing business reports and/or dashboards.
Additional Requirements: Certification in Business Intelligence, such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) credential, are desired. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Performance Exam and a Structured Interview.
