LOCATION: GADOL, Highland Park

SUPERVISOR: Program Manager of GADOL

JOB STATUS: Part-time / Non-exempt / Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise and help develop culinary skills for individuals with ID/DD. The goal of this program is for participants to receive certifications that enable them to join the work force and make an immediate impact in restaurants and food service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Observes established health and safety standards and procedures including those of USDA, OSHA and ServSafe

Performs job duties and responsibilities within agency and regulatory guidelines.

Culinary instruction, administering the ServSafe training program, teaching job readiness

Monitor and report on individual’s progress throughout the training program.

Assesses participant culinary support needs.

Ensures all food service documentation is correctly entered and stored.

Prepares vocational reports and plans according to needs and requirements of funding agencies.

Collaborates and communicates effectively with Program Manager of GADOL, GADOL team members, Employers, as well as other entities to benefit the supported individual as needed or required.

Provides support to participants consistent with the funding authorizations and to the individual’s service or work plan.

Completes and/or obtains all required paperwork needed for participant records according to Keshet policies and procedures, including information needed for billing, support plans, consent information, etc.

Provides crisis intervention including coordinating and communicating with others and working on behalf of the individual to complete required documentation.

Maintains effective written and oral communication with Keshet personnel and external entities.

As Keshet is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative, team environment, employee must be physically present in the office to perform his/her job functions; except as approved at company’s discretion on a limited basis.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Training for ServSafe

Complete DSP required training- CPR, First Aid, Safety Care, Rule 50, Fire Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens and continuing professional development assigned by Program Managers or Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be at least 21 years old

Minimum 3 years of experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities

Valid Driver’s License and a safe driving record

Ability to relate to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families.

Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with others.

Self-directed but willing to work in a team orientation setting.

Understands and demonstrates ethical behavior and practices.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Patient, reliable, compassionate, able to work independently, and adaptable.

Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Good problem-solving skill

Ability to prepare written reports using proper punctuation, spelling and grammar.

Be respectful and follow Jewish culture and guidelines set forth in personnel manual.

Ability to represent program participants and program services in a professional manner.

Physically assist people to perform various tasks (e.g. mobility, daily living skills).
