Adjunct Instructor - Criminal Justice Adjunct Instructor - Criminal Justice Position: Open Immediately Work Schedule: Starting in fall semester 2025, schedule may vary; Candidate must be available to teach in-person daytime classes.
Summary: Instructor Criminal Justice The position involves teaching the following Criminal Justice Administration subjects in our program: Introduction and foundational level content, Investigation, Criminal Evidence, Corrections, Private Security, Law Enforcement, Ethics, as well as other subject areas.
Additionally, the role will draw upon real-life engagement, interaction or experience and/or familiarity with criminal justice workplace environments and practices.
The position is part of the School of Business, Legal, and Social Services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Maintain and submit accurate academic records, including grades, attendance, and certifications.
* Enhance instructional effectiveness through ongoing self-evaluation and by integrating current developments in teaching and learning strategies.
* Develop and update course curriculum, including using appropriate technology.
* Deliver course instruction in alignment with the master course outline and class schedule.
* Actively participate in Criminal Justice faculty meetings.
* Create and implement plans to effectively deliver the program curriculum.
* Assist the college in ensuring technology, facilities, and equipment remain up-to-date.
* Engage in professional development, including both college-sponsored activities and independent efforts, to remain current in the field of study.
* Advise students as to appropriate courses for completion of the program of study.
* Collaborate with counselors, advisors, and other college staff to address student needs.
* Stay informed about industry, market, and competitive trends to support program relevancy.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Possible Class Schedule: * Day and Evening synchronous classes are offered at LCCC Schnecksville campus, LCCC Donley site and our LCCC Tamaqua site.
* Monday through Friday.
* Fall Semester (15 weeks) - August to December * Spring Semester (15 Weeks) - January to May Qualifications: Required: A Master Degree or Juris Doctor from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five years of Criminal Justice experience in Pennsylvania.
Preferred: * Teaching experience at a secondary or college level.
* Experience with Learning Management Systems.
* Hy-flex synchronous teaching experience in the classroom and Remote meetings technology.
* Asynchronous Course Development and Instruction.
